The 6XD Sequential Gearbox Package for the Corvette C5, C6, and C7 is one of our best-selling installation packages worldwide. Designed for high-performance street cars, track builds, and serious competition applications, this complete drivetrain system combines the proven 6XD sequential transmission with an upgraded torque tube, driveshaft, and Winters quick-change rear differential.
With multiple transmission configurations, more than 200 transmission gear ratios, and an extensive selection of final-drive ratios, the 6XD package can be tailored to suit your engine combination, tire size, horsepower goals, and intended driving application.
Plug-and-Play Installation Design
Upgraded Torque Tube and Driveshaft
The 6XD package features an upgraded torque tube bearing carrier designed for demanding high-horsepower and high-torque applications.
Inside the torque tube is an upgraded 3.5-inch-diameter aluminum driveshaft with billet Alum tri-mount ends. This performance-oriented design replaces the factory-style rubber mounting arrangement to help address recurring mount failures under demanding driving conditions.
Every component is selected to provide a robust drivetrain foundation for serious performance builds.
Winters Quick-Change Rear Differential
The 6XD package includes a Winters RTS1500 quick-change rear differential, giving you exceptional flexibility to tailor your final-drive gearing to your driving conditions.
The quick-change design allows final-drive ratios to be changed in approximately five minutes, depending on the setup and procedure. You can run a 3.25 ratio for highway cruising, then switch to a 4.12 ratio for track use or select another ratio to better suit your application.
With final-drive ratios ranging from 2.20 to 7.76, the system offers an extensive range of gearing options for street, track, and competition use.
Rear differential configurations are available with a spool or Torsen limited-slip differential (LSD). An OS Giken LSD is also available as an upgrade.
Transmission Configurations and Gear Ratios
The 6XD sequential transmission is available in 4-speed, 5-speed, and 6-speed configurations.
With more than 200 transmission gear ratios available for 6XD version, we can help configure the transmission to match your engine’s powerband, tire diameter, final-drive ratio, and intended driving environment.
Approximately 98% of our customers have 6XD design transmission ratios to meet the specific requirements of the clients build once we receive the Configuration sheet, we supply each client.

Clutch Options and Performance Upgrades
The 6XD package can be configured with a suitable OEM-style clutch or upgraded with an aftermarket performance clutch and flywheel package.
We are dealers for both Tilton and ACT performance clutches and can help you select the right combination based on your power level, driving style, and intended use, and at lower pricing.
Additional options include a load cell and standalone gear control unit (GCU) for wide-open-throttle (WOT) and throttle-blip (BLIP) clutch-less shifting functionality.
These options allow you to further customize the drivetrain to suit your performance goals and control-system requirements.

What’s Included in the C5, C6 & C7 Installation Kit?
Each complete Corvette 6XD sequential transmission / gearbox package includes the following components:
Transmission and Drivetrain
- 6XD standard sequential transmission in your choice of 4-speed, 5-speed, or 6-speed configuration, and can have One or multiple Over-Drives or even no OD ratios!
- Custom upgraded billet Alum torque tube and 3.5-inch aluminum driveshaft, with upgraded billet Alum tri-mount ends, no more OEM rubber rings that break.
- Billet mounting brackets for the OEM C6 or C7 rear cradle.
- Winters RTS1500 quick-change rear differential. HD SPOOL standard.
- Choice of spool or Torsen LSD. Spool Included cost / Torsen LSD Additional 870.00
- Optional OS Giken 1.5 or 2.0 LSD upgrade. Additional 870.00
- 300M transmission input shaft GM 26 spline.
- Standard GM 26-spline input configuration or optional upgraded 29-spline NASCAR-style configuration. 29x Additional 540.00
Shifter and Electronics
- Two mil-spec wiring harnesses for the gear display and reverse/neutral lockout button.
- Black anodized Billet gear display with terminated DTM connector.
- Rotating shifter handle with 360-degree adjustment for driver positioning.
- Available shifter handle offsets: Straight Carbon or 2-inch, 3-inch, and 5-inch Carbon print.
Oil Cooling and Ventilation
- 16-row transmission oil cooler with -8 AN male fitting.
- 8-row quick-change rear oil cooler with -8 AN male fitting.
- Tilton continuous-run oil pump dedicated to the quick-change rear differential, with -8 AN fitting.
- Two billet vent cans: one for the transmission and one for the quick-change rear differential.
Installation Notes and Required Modifications
Please review the following requirements before ordering your 6XD installation package.
1 • Rear Suspension Conversion
Installation requires removal of the factory rear mono-leaf spring and conversion to a coil-over shock setup. 99% of all corvette performance owners already use this mod for the best handling.
Coil-overs are a common upgrade for performance-oriented Corvette builds and provide additional suspension tuning flexibility when properly configured.
2 • Exhaust Modifications
The factory OEM exhaust system will not fit with this package. Muffler changes and exhaust modifications are required to provide the necessary clearance.
Borla Exhaust system offers a redesigned exhaust option for applicable configurations. Alternatively, a qualified local exhaust shop can fabricate a custom exhaust system to suit your installation.
3 • Trunk-Floor Clearance: C5 and C7
Installation requirements can vary with the vehicle’s existing modifications and configuration. Confirm application-specific details before beginning installation with 6XD GEARBOX TEAM.
The C5 and C7 installation kits require clearance modifications to the lowest section of the trunk floor to accommodate the quick-change rear differential assembly.
C6 applications do not require this trunk-floor modification, as the factory trunk floor provides sufficient clearance for the quick-change unit.
C7 Application ALSO include a Custom Sway-Bar / Due to the GM C7 design of the cradle and how the 6XD C7 Winters quick change rear sits in the smaller OEM cradle, we were required to design a Custom sway-bar for the C7 application, It mounts in same OEM mounting points, but has a drop down bend in center of the bar to clear the quick change rear end.

Our typical lead time is 2-4 weeks before shipment, provided we have received your completed 6XD configuration sheet and all required order information.

Deposit Requirements
A $20,000 deposit is required to secure your order and begin the configuration process.
