The 6XD Sequential Gearbox Package for the GEN 5 VIPER is also one of our best-selling installation packages worldwide. Designed for high-performance street cars Stock Power up to 3000 ft lbs. (6XDX version), Super builds, track builds, and serious competition applications, this complete drivetrain system combines the proven 6XD sequential transmission with an upgraded 26 or 29 spline 300m Input shaft, Alum 4.00″ diameter driveshaft, and custom rear trans mount that utilizes the OEM mount. The shifter assembly comes right up through the OEM shifter boot in center console to make everything plug in and play installation!
With more than 200 transmission gear ratios, the 6XD package can be tailored to suit your engine combination, tire size, horsepower goals, and intended driving application.
Gen5 VIPER Plug-and-Play Installation Design
The 6XD installation package is engineered to simplify integration into your Gen5 Viper drivetrain layout. Our kit includes the Upgraded driveshaft which can be mounted to an OEM or Ford 9″ Diff.
For Gen5 applications, the system mounts into the tunnel like a glove using precision-machined billet mounting bracket which allows for the OEM rubber mount to also be used. This all positions the shifter assembly to come through the OEM center console location, providing a clean, factory-style shifter placement.
Unlike conventional cable-operated sequential units on the market that can produce a soft or spongy shifting feel, the 6XD sequential uses an aluminum solid mounted billet shifter directly to the billet transmission itself, allowing for a more direct, solid connection between the shifter and transmission. The result is a precise, positive shifting experience through every gear.
Upgraded Driveshaft
The 6XD VIPER package features an upgraded 4.00″ diameter driveshaft that has proven to handle over 3000 WHP. This performance-oriented diameter replaces the factory-style with smaller and heavier shafts to help address recurring failures under BIG HP demanding driving conditions.
Every component is selected to provide a robust drivetrain foundation for serious performance builds.
Transmission Configurations and Gear Ratios
The 6XD sequential transmission is available in 4-speed, 5-speed, and 6-speed configurations.
With more than 200 transmission gear ratios available with the 6XD version, we can help configure the transmission to match your engine’s powerband, tire diameter, final-drive ratio, and intended driving environment.
Approximately 98% of our customers have 6XD design transmission ratios to meet the specific requirements of the clients build once we receive the Configuration sheet, we supply each client

Clutch Options and Performance Upgrades
The 6XD package can be configured with a suitable OEM-style clutch or upgraded with an aftermarket performance clutch and flywheel packages.
We are dealers for both Tilton and ACT performance and RPS clutches and can help you select the right combination based on your power level, driving style, and intended use, and at lower pricing.
Additional options include a load cell and “Xineering” stand-alone gear control unit (GCU) for wide-open-throttle (WOT) and throttle-blip (BLIP) clutch-less shifting functionality, 99% of all clients use this pkg for amazing smooth fast shifting.
These options allow you to further customize the drivetrain to suit your performance goals and control-system requirements.

Each complete 6XD sequential gearbox Gen5 VIPER package includes the following components:
Transmission and Drivetrain
- 6XD or 6XDX sequential transmission in your choice of 4-speed, 5-speed, or 6-speed configuration, and can have One or multiple Over-Drives or even no OD ratios!
- Custom upgraded Alum 4.00″ diameter aluminum driveshaft, with 1350 hard joints and Mark Williams 1350 Hardened Slip Yoke.
- Billet Alum mounting bracket for the use of the OEM rubber rear trans mount.
- Billet Alum Mounting plate for OEM bell housing, with integrated TOB mounting holes for either OEM or Tilton TOB units
- 300M transmission input shaft GM 26 spline.
- Standard GM-VIPER 26-spline input configuration or optional upgraded 29-spline NASCAR-style configuration. 29x Additional cost
Shifter and Electronics
- Two mil-spec wiring harnesses for the gear display and reverse/neutral lockout button, both are plug & play using terminated eyelets for positive and negative posts.
- Black anodized Billet gear display with terminated DTM connector.
- Rotating shifter handle with 360-degree adjustment for PERFECT driver positioning.
- Available shifter handle offsets: Straight Carbon or 2-inch, 3-inch, and 5-inch Carbon print.
Oil Cooling and Ventilation
- 16-row transmission oil cooler with -8 AN male fitting.
- One billet vent can for the transmission with -8 AN male fitting.

A $15,000 deposit is required to secure your order and begin the configuration process.
